Cathedral in Tandag The century-old cathedral in Tandag is another of the province’s major cultural/historical attractions.
Paladong Festival It is celebrated every August 27.
Kaliguan Festival A yearly festivity in honor of St. John the Baptist, it is highlighted by beach dancing and the Search for Perlas ng Kaliguan. There are also sports activities at the beach, which include Pinoy Games.
San Agustin Church The 175-year old Church of San Agustin is situated in the town of Hinatuan. It is one of the province’s prime cultural/historical attractions.
Tandag Surfing After discovering Siargao in neighboring Surigao del Norte, the surf explorers headed on down the Mindanao coast, and soon discovered high-quality waves around Tandag, in Surigao del Sur, where the coast is only a few kilometers from the depths of the Philippine Trench. This area has a wide variety of waves in a small area including fast tubes, beach breaks, point breaks, and rivermouth breaks. Two of the finest of them are Jelly’s Point and Glenda’s.
